WORKSHOP ON CHARACTERIZATION OF MATERIALS USING POWDER DIFFRACTION

Cluster of Sustainable Engineering, School of Materials Engineering, UniMAP has successfully organized the “Workshop on Charaterisation of Materials Using Powder Diffraction” in collaboration with Bruker Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. The workshop has attracted 53 participants to participate. The invited speaker is Mr Andrew Yau Boun Swee who is a X-Ray Technical Manager from Bruker. This workshop is successful to provide a description of the techniques and methods that used to analyze materials using the X-ray Diffraction (XRD) technique. Beside that, the participant are able to gain the knowledge such as principles of XRD and sample preparation techniques from Mr Andrew who has 13 years experience in XRD.

For next event we plan to have another workshop on how to analyze data using TOPAS software. It is intended to benefit all potential XRD users to improve their quality of data acquisitions and analysis.
